And there are many reasons why you might want a qualified and experienced skipper and crew to deliver your yacht from one port to another. You may have just bought her, or you may not have the time or experience to move her to her new sailing ground yourself.
You are buying the time and expertise of a highly qualified and experienced yacht delivery skipper, and the voluntary time of the crew. As in any other profession, qualifications and experience are worth paying for.
Yachtmovers will undertake the delivery for you. Although our skippers have delivery insurance, you will also need to ask your insurers to cover the delivery trip. And because safety is our paramount concern, we may ask for a recent survey or a rig check.
We will agree a delivery fee with you. On top of this, you will need to find the cost of transport to and from the ports of departure and arrival for both the skipper and the crew. And you will need to provide an agreed deposit to cover the cost of fuel, food and other incidental costs during the delivery trip. Although this might seem a lot at first, it really isn't any more than it would cost you if you were making the voyage. And it may even be less!
